Reliability + Efficiency Strategies for High Energy/Aux Equipment
PP&S Training Facility, Charlotte, NC
PP&S conducted a 2-day program for engineers and maintenance, production and plant managers that provided advanced training in critical assembly set-up of high energy pumps and auxiliary equipment.
PP&S Reliability Specialist Ray Shifflett, in partnership with training professionals from Flowserve and HBE Engineering equipment, covered procedures and best practices to ensure equipment is operating optimally as designed. At the end of the training, the 15 attendees gained a solid understanding of proper pump, motor and auxiliary equipment set-up to operate at peak performance, reduce energy cost and increase reliability.PP&S of Alabama's Louis Feirman and Dennis Huff participated in extended training of college engineers at Mercedes-Benz in Vance, AL. The 4-day event was hosted by , a workforce development organization that supports Alabama business and government in promoting economic vitality.

AIDT Cooperative Training for Engineering Undergraduates
Mercedes-Benz Facility, Vance, SC
PP&S of Alabama's Louis Feirman and Dennis Huff participated in extended training of college engineers at Mercedes-Benz in Vance, AL. The 4-day event was hosted by AIDT, a workforce development organization that supports Alabama business and government in promoting economic vitality.
Louis and Dennis partnered in AIDT's Co-op program that reaches out to AL colleges and universities to expose students to real-world experience and skills. The PP&S team covered Pumps101 basics, as well as a review of pump selection software capabilities. They also provided hands-on equipment demos for several equipment types during this 4-hour training session. Dennis and Louis's morning session was followed by a presentation by our OEM partner Gusher.
PP&S participation in this type of training event serves to promote the future of manufacturing and engineering – segments that have been losing workforce interest over the past couple decades.

A Trifecta of Wastewater Treatment Strategies

PP&S Environmental partnered with three OEM industry experts to deliver a course focusing on leading-edge alternatives to solving wastewater challenges. This course was featured in the South Carolina Rural Water Association’s (SCRWA) professional development class line-up for November 2013, and was offered on three dates and locations across SC.
Technologies discussed included: Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Facility (Contech-Magellan), Advanced Sequencing Batch Reactor (AWT Technologies), North American Extended Aeration Lagoon System (Bioworks).
